This Week’s Post – Leo Tolstoy and Peace

In honor of the anniversary of Leo Tolstoy’s Birthday, September 9, 1828, here are a few of his writings to consider. They are fascinating and some of them, if offered as required readings in public schools, would help us to develop an alternative to our violence-based societies. He challenges the motivations of governments and also religion suggesting the latter often misinterpret the teachings of Christ for their own gain. He was also vegetarian see https://ivu.org/history/tolstoy/natural.html for some background on his decision to become one and its influence on his life. Happy reading!
