3/18/19 – Weekly Post: Jeannette Rankin, a First.

In 1916, Jeannette Rankin was the first woman ever elected to the United States Congress.  She was also the only member of Congress to cast a vote against participation in both World Wars and a leader in the women’s suffrage movement.  She is an inspiring figure who most know nothing about because our schools do not teach us about her.  This needs to change.
