“The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that is wrong with the world.”

Celebrate International Human Rights Day today. The Think Peace Club will be selling their 5th annual “Quote a Day Calendar” today in the main lobby of O’Connell Hall from 12 – 2 p.m. today. The requested donation is $10.00.
The way to a peaceful, sustainable world, is through equal rights for all people. But not everyone is in favor of equal rights. In fact many of those with power, wealth, and privilege are reluctant to give up their positions of privilege. Most don’t have to. They just have to commit to working together to create a more just and equitable world. Many are doing it as we speak. Each of us must become educated about Human Rights and evaluate the merit of them. If we support them we can take action. It can be political, supporting people with our votes, writing them or joining organizations that support human rights. We can also practice what we preach in our daily lives. So take a look at the following site as we support a more just and peaceful world. http://www.un.org/en/events/humanrightsday/
